Early 2022 NBN’s capability team reached out seeking to build change capability with the program management function and the operations functions. This led to the early testing of the Change is Everybody’s Business program.
As a learning primer, participants were provided with a 10-minute video on how our brains handle change.
Run with dual facilitators, 550 participants attended 27 sessions. Each session was four hours long with 10-minute breaks in between. We worked with the NBN Enterprise Change Capability Leader to identify which of their self-serve change tools to introduce to the non-change people. Five were selected as a minimum viable change kit, supported by a case study we developed to use and run live demonstrations of each tool with each session. The workshops concluded with a discussion about contextualizing what had been learnt and understanding how their roles would be enhanced by building greater change capability.
After the initial 200 people were covered, NBN then had waitlists for each course registration released, a testimony to the great popularity of the course.
