The Agile Change Leadership Institute celebrates five years of its Agile Change Manager Certificate with a substantial course refresh, adding nearly 17% more learning content, new AI adoption lessons and additional resources for change practitioners.
Five years is a long time in change management.
Since the Agile Change Leadership Institute (ACLI) launched its Agile Change Manager Certificate, organisations have experienced unprecedented disruption, accelerating digital transformation, changing workforce expectations and, most recently, the rapid emergence of generative AI.
The profession has evolved. And so has the certificate.
To mark its fifth anniversary, ACLI has announced a significant refresh of the Agile Change Manager Certificate, expanding the course from four hours and 30 minutes to five hours and 15 minutes of learning.
That’s nearly 17% more course content, with no increase in price. For existing alumni, all updates are included in their lifetime course access.
Listening to learners
The refresh follows a detailed analysis of learner feedback collected between August 2024 and August 2026.
Across 795 completed learner responses, the certificate achieved:
- 9.12/10 average for ease of understanding
- 8.86/10 average for value and usefulness
- Strong results across all five existing modules, with no module identified as consistently underperforming
The analysis also included 315 written comments, providing insights into what learners valued and where improvements could be made.
Among the strongest themes was the value of real-world examples and learning that could be immediately applied in the workplace.
One learner commented:
“This course is something that will change how I do change in the workplace forever.”
Another described putting a communication technique into practice on the same day they learned it, with positive feedback from their client and users.
The feedback also highlighted opportunities to update references, introduce more contemporary examples, improve accessibility and make course resources easier to navigate. The fifth-anniversary refresh directly addresses several of these opportunities.
What’s new in the Agile Change Manager Certificate?
1. A new module: AI & Agile Change
As organisations increasingly invest in AI, change practitioners are being asked to support adoption in environments characterised by high uncertainty, rapidly evolving technology and shifting employee expectations.
The new AI & Agile Change module explores why agile approaches are particularly relevant to AI-enabled transformation.
Topics include:
- Five agile mindset shifts relevant to AI adoption
- The identity challenges that can influence employees’ willingness to engage with AI
- How agile change practices can be applied to an AI implementation, including a worked example
The emphasis is on helping change practitioners move beyond traditional change delivery assumptions and respond to the emerging challenges of AI adoption.
2. A refreshed Change in an Uncertain World module
Uncertainty has always been part of organisational change, but the context in which change practitioners operate continues to evolve.
The refreshed module incorporates contemporary thinking on:
- Brain-friendly change practices and how the brain responds to change
- New findings relating to the SCARF model
- Psychological safety and working with uncertainty
- Practitioner wellbeing, self-care and the emotional demands of supporting others through change
The importance of self-care was particularly evident in learner feedback, with participants frequently describing the content as a welcome and valuable acknowledgment of the emotional realities of change management.
3. A new Sponsor Operating Model
Effective change sponsorship remains fundamental to successful organisational change.
The certificate now includes the Sponsor Operating Model, an additional resource to support practitioners in thinking about sponsorship responsibilities and how sponsorship operates in practice.
4. Better access to learning resources
The fifth-anniversary refresh also introduces several improvements designed to make learning more accessible and useful beyond initial certification.
These include:
- Transcripts for every module: Supporting different learning preferences and making it easier to revisit course concepts.
- Quick Content Locator: Helping learners find relevant lessons, tools and resources without having to work through the entire course again.
- Swap This for That handout: Providing a reference for replacing traditional change management approaches with more agile alternatives.
- Updated readings: Refreshed research, articles and practitioner resources across the course to connect learning with contemporary practice.
Together, these additions reinforce the certificate’s role as both a professional development program and an ongoing resource for change practitioners.
A commitment to continuous improvement
For ACLI co-founder Dr Jen Frahm, the refresh reflects a fundamental principle of agile change: the importance of feedback, learning and adaptation.
“We teach change practitioners to inspect, adapt and respond to changing circumstances. It’s important that we do the same with our own programs.
“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, but the world our learners work in has changed considerably over five years. We want the certificate to continue reflecting that reality.”
The refresh also reflects ACLI’s commitment to providing accessible, contemporary professional development through short, self-paced learning supported by tools and resources that practitioners can apply in their organisations.
More learning, same investment
Despite increasing the learning content by nearly 17%, ACLI has maintained the existing course price.
The additions are also available to all previous participants through the certificate’s lifetime access arrangement.
This means learners who completed the program in earlier years can return to explore the new AI module, revisit updated material and access the additional resources without purchasing the course again.
Looking ahead
Five years after its introduction, the Agile Change Manager Certificate continues to focus on developing the capabilities, mindset and judgement required to work effectively in changing organisational environments.
As AI and other emerging technologies reshape organisations, the importance of adaptable, people-centred change practice is only likely to increase.
For ACLI, the fifth anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate what has been achieved while continuing to evolve alongside the profession.
